ROSEMONT 2013 VENDOR COUNTERFEIT INFO HANDOUT

TO ALL VENDORS WELCOME TO ROSEMONT 2013!
WISHING YOU A SUCCESSFUL OUTDOOR SEASON!
Amazing flea market finds are why tens of thousands of customers fill the aisles!
AS ALWAYS STAFF WILL BE CHECKING BOOTHS FOR COUNTERFEIT MERCHANDISE.

IT IS ILLEGAL TO SELL COUNTERFEITS. Counterfeiting is a worldwide problem. Arrests occur at flea markets, factories, homes, neighborhood stores, US borders, websites, warehouses, and wholesalers. Companies whose counterfeit merchandise was being sold have successfully sued flea markets (Coach, Louis Vuitton).

Flea markets are vital venues that cycle rare, collectible, antique, second-hand, overstock, discontinued, refurbished, salvaged, new-old stock merchandise through the economy. However, in the search for selling stock, you, as a vendor may be offered counterfeit merchandise. If you buy from wholesalers, auctions, certain stores, online, craigslist, storage sheds, resale shops, garage sales, eBay, or “a guy” you are at risk for knowingly or unknowingly obtaining counterfeit items. Get the picture? Counterfeits can be found anywhere! Your sources may not always be knowledgeable or honest. You are responsible for researching your own products. If a deal is too good to be true-a cheap lot of current, new, trademarked, licensed products-you may be looking at fakes! WOLFF’S DOES NOT ALLOW COUNTERFEIT MERCHANDISE!

While we are not legal experts, we conduct ongoing research and believe in educating our vendors – but you must cooperate with us as well. Please do not be offended or argue when we check your tables every week and sometimes several times a day. Items may not yet be unpacked or seen the first time around, or you may bring something new the next week. If we see counterfeit items, you must remove them immediately and permanently, without argument.

IT’S OUR POLICY AND IT’S THE LAW. Even if you didn’t know something was counterfeit, even if you didn’t know it was illegal to sell counterfeit. Even if you have only 1 item, or a couple of used counterfeit items. Even if you sold it elsewhere, or last year.

We are not singling you out and believe that 99.9% of you are honest, understanding, intelligent, hardworking individuals. However if you do not cooperate, you may be banned from the market – permanently. To date, we have banned certain vendors for taking counterfeit items out again on the same day, bringing different counterfeits at a later date, “selling under the table” or arguing with staff. One banned individual was later arrested at another market for selling counterfeits. Arrests happen.

Wolff’s is part of ongoing education and research regarding the always changing situation of counterfeits. Items allowed last year might now be banned. That’s how it goes and we have no control over the introduction of new counterfeits into the system. We will let you know what we know. Counterfeiting may never be 100% stopped at local or overseas factories or at the border, but at Wolff’s we are ever vigilant to stop it here. Google “Counterfeit” for thousands of articles. Our strict patrol system attempts to keep counterfeit items out of Wolff’s. Your cooperation makes our market a safe and friendly shoppers’ destination.

WE WILL BE CHECKING:
